Spot | How to talk about harassment

We need to broaden the discussion about
workplace harassment beyond sexual harassment. Because harassment isn’t an
issue of men versus women it’s a human issue. Harassment can happen to all of us. Did you know that 60% of women and 17% of men have experienced workplace
harassment or bullying? 37% of those who identify as LGBTQI+ 53% of those who identify as disabled? And, 30% of Black, Asian, or Ethnic
Minority workers have witnessed or experienced racial harassment in the workplace in the past year alone. Only united can we change the culture that allows this to happen. But, right now, almost no one reports harassment. Unfortunately, people, and companies can’t fix what they can’t see. We need to encourage open dialogue. Just as we can all be harassed, we can also all be harassers. We need to be able to give each other constructive feedback, face to face or, if that doesn’t work, to report it to our employers. But it’s common to be worried about reporting. That’s why we created Spot. It lets you privately record what happened so you can keep it for yourself in case you want to share it later, or report it right away. You’re in control. You can even stay
completely anonymous. Speak up for yourself. Speak up for others. Let’s build a better workplace culture.
