Former Boston College Student Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter In Boyfriend’s Suicide


WBZ NEWS THIS AFTERNOON. A FORMER BOSTON COLLEGE STUDENT FACING MANSLAUGHTER CHARGES IN A SUICIDE DEATH OF A PROSECUTOR. THE COLLEGE COUPLE HAD AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP THAT DROVE THE VICTIM TO TAKE HIS OWN LIFE. HE JUMPED FROM A PARKING GARAGE HOURS BEFORE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO GRADUATE. HIS GIRLFRIEND NOT ONLY DROVE HIM TO MAKE THAT DECISION BUT SHE WAS THERE WHEN HE TOOK HIS LIFE. WE ARE IN BOSTON WITH MORE FOR US ON THIS BREAKING STORY. Reporter: A FEW MINUTES AGO, THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY RACHAEL ROLLINS DETAILED THE CASE OF PHYSICAL, VERBAL, AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSE SO WANTON AND RECKLESS THAT SHE SAYS IT CAUSED A YOUNG MAN TO JUMP TO HIS DEATH. THE CASE INVOLVES TWO STUDENTS WHO WERE ATTENDING BOSTON COLLEGE IS SEEN HERE, ALEXANDER AND THIS YOUNG LADY FROM SOUTH KOREA. THEY SAY THAT HIS FAMILY WAS IN TOWN TO WATCH THEM GRADUATE IN MAY BUT THEY DID NOT GET THE CHANCE TO BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY JUMPED FROM THE RENAISSANCE GARAGE IN ROXBURY THAT DAY. INVESTIGATORS ALLEGE HE DID SO AFTER RECEIVING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF ABUSIVE TEXT MESSAGES FROM HIS GIRLFRIEND, OVER 40,000 OF THEM DURING THEIR 18 MONTH RELATIONSHIP THEY EVEN SAY SHE USED HIS iPHONE TO TRACK THEM TO THAT GARAGE AND WAS PRESENT WHEN HE COMMITTED SUICIDE. I WOULD COMFORTABLY SAY YES, THOUSANDS OF TIMES, HUNDREDS OF TIMES CERTAINLY IN THE 47,000 TEXT MESSAGES, YES, THERE WERE MANY, MANY INSTANCES WHERE SHE INSTRUCTED HIM TO DO SO.
